Institutional Research

The primary function of the Office of Institutional Research is to facilitate data collection, analysis, reporting, and dissemination and interpretation of information from internal and external data sources in support of institutional planning, assessment, institutional effectiveness, decision-making, and policy formulation. The IE office also serves as the University’s primary point of contact for surveys and reports requested from governmental and commercial agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of Education IPEDS reports, Peterson’s Survey, Voluntary System of Accountability (VSA) College Portrait, Barron’s Profile of American Colleges Survey).

Vision

To be seen as the primary avenue for decision support information to foster East Central University’s vision within the state and nation as Oklahoma’s premier comprehensive student centered regional university.

Mission

The mission of the Office of Institutional Research is to provide timely, reliable, and user-friendly data and research services to all units at East Central University and external agencies that is integral to the strategic planning of the University. The Office of Institutional Effectiveness addresses the rapidly changing and culturally diverse society by serving as the centralized repository to collect, research, compile, and analyze data related to students, faculty, staff, alumni, finances, and the community.

Data Requests
 
For all data requests, please navigate through the Institutional Effectiveness website first.  If you are unable to find the data you are looking for, please complete the Data Request Form.
        
Requests will generally be answered in one week depending on complexity.  In some cases, you may be contacted to discuss your request in more detail.   A request may take longer than others depending upon the nature of the information requested.  If you have any questions or need assistance, please contact me at 580-559-5668 or ashekin@ecok.edu

Handle any information obtained through a data request in a confidential manner, securing it at all times. 
Use this information only for its intended purpose.
